This last week, John MacArthur made a public comment about the well-known author and speaker Beth Moore. The firestorm that followed was fascinating to watch. Many supported MacArthur. Many supported Moore and attacked MacArthur for his words and/or his tone. Some attacked those who supported MacArthur, others attacked those who supported Moore. Few listened to the other side; they seemed to quickly go on the offensive. Back-and-forth, round and round. That seems to be human nature – if someone says or does something against us or someone we care about, we want to retaliate, to strike back. We want to be right. But there is a better way. David wrote about it in Psalm 144. Retaliate? Or something else?
