Colossians 3:1-17

When Debbie and I lived in our house, I would usually mow the lawn on Friday morning. Even though we had a small yard and I mowed and edged early in the day, I still worked up a sweat and got dirty. Then, on Friday evening, we’d often go out to eat. Not once did I go to the clothes hamper, pull out the sweaty, dirty clothes I wore while mowing, and change into those clothes. When I am with her, especially when we go out, I want clean, fresh-smelling clothes. On another level, we can all make that same decision about what we are going to wear – spiritually. Will we act like the old person we were or like the new person – clean and fresh in Christ – that we are?
