Exodus 13:1-16

Some of us have a tendency to forget important things. Recently someone asked me what year Verna and I were married. I knew the month and day and I narrowed down the year, but I finally had to ask Verna. Yes, she remembered. We have various ways to remember things. Sometimes a memorial is put up, like the Lincoln Memorial. Sometimes certain days are specified as holidays, like July 4. Sometimes an artifact like the “Come and Take It” flag reminds us of the beginning of the Texas War for Independence. God, too, has things He wants us to remember and knowing my tendency to forget He gives us reminders. This week we will see a reminder God gave Israel, the truth behind it, and what it means to us in 2020.
