Philippians 4:10-13

When I was in the high school choir in 19**, we performed a song called “The Twelve Days After Christmas.” It began, “On the first day after Christmas, my true love and I had a fight.” The song continued to describe either inferior gifts (the “Gold Rings” turned her fingers green) or how the gifts were dispatched. The song was funny, but it is sadly true that many people get a case of the blues following the holidays (others get the blues during the holidays as well, but that’s for another time). What do we do when we don’t get what we want? When all the “fun” of the holiday season is over and it’s back to normal? Or, more importantly, what do we do when life in general just seems not to satisfy?
