The Harm of Hypocrisy
Romans 2:17-24

“The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” Brennan Manning
 
I am not sure how we would qualify such a statement, but I believe we can at least acknowledge its truthfulness in general. Hypocrites do damage to the cause of Christ. In a world of constant cameras and worldwide exposure, the failures of Christians are sure to get the most play. Though we cannot control how the rest of the professing Christian world lives and behaves, we can control, by God’s grace, how we live and behave. 
 
in Romans 2:17-24, Paul states plainly that Hypocrisy Harms. He even goes as far as to say that the unbelieving world blasphemes the name of God because of religious hypocrites. Lord, help us not to be the ones who cause someone else to blasphemy your name.
