Experiencing Jesus

Experiencing Jesus

Philippians 3:10-11

Do you know Jesus? Do you really know Jesus? I have family members that I grew up with all my life and to this day I wouldn’t say that I really know them. That is, I don’t know them well. Yes, I am related to them, they are family, but I can’t say that I know much about who they are, what they love or hate, what excites them or angers them, or the deepest desires of their heart.

When the question is asked whether we know Jesus Christ, most of us would say, “YES!” We have a relationship with Him that is hopefully ever growing. But do we really know Him well? What He loves and hates. What motivates Him today. What He lives for? What He wants from us and our lives?

The Apostle Paul after thirty years of knowing and walking with Jesus said, “I want to know Him.” Wow! What a statement. This Sunday, we will dig deeper into what Paul meant by saying that He wanted to know Jesus, even though he knew Him.
