Romans 7:1-6
Have you ever heard the expression, “Fall from Grace”? Many have used this expression to communicate that a person, once saved by Christ, can fall from that same grace that eternally saved them. Here at BCC, we do not adhere to this teaching. We believe that once a person has been saved by grace, they are eternally secure in the grip of God’s unfailing grace.
Yet, there is still a way in which believers can fall from grace, in a sense. Paul says it this way in Galatians 5:4 “For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.”
In this sense, many believers certainly are in danger of falling from grace in their attempt to live out their Christian lives by works of the flesh. This Sunday, we will see what Paul has to say about this dilemma and we can be sure that we remain in the grip of God’s grace in our day-to-day life.
