The Both/And Of Grace

Ezra 3:8-13
 
Change is often hard. On the one hand, new is exciting. It’s refreshing and brings with it new experiences and opportunities. While most of us enjoy what awaits for us in the future, it’s important that we acknowledge that change can be difficult for many. Some are experiencing loss or simply wishing things were the way they used to be. The things of old are comfortable to us. This week, as we read the account of the rebuilding of the temple, we will see that most were excited, but there were some who wept as they remembered the way things used to be. Fortunately, God’s grace allows for both/and. Join us Sunday as we see this dynamic play out in the Book of Ezra, and understand too, how we can extend grace to others when we go through changes.
