Life Lessons Learned

Life Lessons Learned

Father’s Day 2025

You know, 1 Corinthians 10:11 says, “These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us…” Paul was talking about the nation of Israel and how their mistakes weren’t just recorded for history—they were recorded so people like us could learn from them.

They say hindsight is 20/20, and it’s true. With time comes perspective.

As we celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday, I’ve been thinking a lot about the things I’d do differently if I could go back. I’ve made my share of mistakes as a dad. I assumed the church would fill in the spiritual gaps. I thought providing financially was enough. And there were times I wasn’t as present as I should have been.

But instead of carrying regret, I want to use those lessons to encourage and challenge the fathers today. We can’t change the past—but we can grow from it and lead our families better from this day forward. Let’s learn together how to be the dads God is calling us to be.
